Angel's Cry: 20th Anniversary Tour (By andreukbr)

Rating: 5/5

This 5/5 is not necessarily due to the work itself, but because of what this album represents to a generation.

Whoever 'mature' enough to have followed up Angra since their start ("the post-Viper Era", one would provokingly say) may still remember the very first time Carry On played; the more fortunate ones may even remember when it played as a debut at the extinct 97 Rock Radio (Sao Paulo - Brazil) before its release... something extremely powerful to a headbanger's upbringing.

The same level of imprinting is valid in relation to Lione and Tarja, strong features in this album and Tour. Despite the level of appreciation eventually changed throughout their trajectories, both Tarja and Lione are imprinted on many whom followed power metal for more than two decades.

Some of the strangest elements from this album come from having Confessori back to the line-up.
Confessori is a great drummer; having said that, worth mentioning that he was once immaculately replaced by Priester... Ironically, Confessori now replaces Priester in return - in a new Angra, molded around Priester mojo... Difficult to be sure whether Confessori (or virtually anyone else) could replace Priester to the same level.
Let us wait and see.
